Patna, Sep 19 (Reporter) Leader of the opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejaswi Prasad Yadav on Thursday questioned the silence of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over setting on fire of 21 houses of dalit community in Nawada district.
Tejaswi posted on his social media account X, that it was really surprising to see that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had uttered even a single word on tragic incident of setting on fire of houses of dalit community in Nawada district of Bihar.
Both the leaders had been boasting of double engine powered NDA government in Bihar but were silent on crimes against oppressed and deprived community of the state, he wondered.
In a sarcastic tone, the former Deputy CM advised Prime Minister Narendra Modi to atleast say that it was all happening in Bihar due to desires of God and vocal leaders of NDA had no control over it.
Nitish Kumar had not been saying anything in public in last few months and not even talking to media, he pointed out. Kumar was only reading speeches prepared by his officials as he was not being allowed to talk freely for his unwarranted and undesirable expression of views on issues having no significance, he remarked.
CPI(ML) leader Kunal said that a delegation of party had visited the spot in Nawada and found that it was brazen display of muscle power against oppressed. Such incidents were often reported from Gaya and Nawada districts of Bihar but Dalit leader of NDA Jeetan Ram Manjhi, an influential Minister in Narendra Modi government, was silent on the issue, he lamented.
Meanwhile, SC and ST welfare Minister of Bihar and chief spokesman of BJP Janak Ram said that attack on dalits in Nawada district of Bihar was most unfortunate. It was not only an immoral act but also violation of rights granted to oppressed in constitution of India, he said.
" Chief Minister has taken serious note of the incident and called a meeting of senior officials", Ram said, adding that Nitish Kumar had directed the authorities to identify the culprits and ensure stringent punishment to them.
As it is, 21 houses were gutted in an attack by criminals and muscleman while several other houses got damaged at Krishna Nagar under Mufassil police station area in Nawada district on Wednesday. Hands of land mafia and criminals were suspected in the incident...////...
