Hyderabad, Apr 16 (Reporter) The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught red-handed TSRTC Huzurabad Depot Manager Samala Srikanth when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 20,000.
Sources said Srikanth, the accused officer, was caught red-handed on Monday by the ACB officials at Manvitha Hotel, Elkaturthi village in Hanmakonda district when he demanded and accepted the bribe from the Complainant Thatikonda Ravinder, Driver of TSRTC, Huzurabad Depot, for doing official favour-- to drop the charges framed against the complainant relating to unauthorized absence and irregular attendance.
Earlier, on April 10, the AO demanded and accepted the initial payment of a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant. Thereby, the Accused Officer performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly, an ACB statement said on Tuesday.
The bribe amount of Rs. 20,000 was recovered from the possession of the AO at his instance.
Srikanth was being arrested and produced before the III Addl Sessions Judge for SPE ACB Cases, Warangal...////...
