Hyderabad, Apr 6 (Reporter) The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a Sub-Inspector of Police on Saturday at Madhapur Police Station, Cyberabad, when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.
At 1400 hours, the Accused Officer (AO-1) M Ranjit Kumar, Sub-Inspector of Police, Madhapur Police Station, Cyberabad, was caught by the ACB when he demanded Rs 50,000 and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 30,000 from the complainant Mudavath Laxman of Sainagar Tanda through M Vikram Police Constable (AO-2) of the same police station for showing official favour -- " for not arresting the complainant in Cr No. 225/2024 u/s 441, 427, 506 IPC of P.S. Madhapur and to settle the issue in Lok Adalat", a ACB statement said.
The Accused Officers thereby performed their public duty improperly and dishonestly.
The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of AO-2 at his instance and from the computer table drawer of A0-2 at his office.
Both AOs were being arrested and produced before the Ist Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Court at Nampally, Hyderabad...////...
