Hyderabad, Feb 13 (Reporter) The Telangana Legislative Assembly budget session, which entered its fifth day on Tuesday, was adjourned to Wednesday at 1000 hours by Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.
Earlier, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu extended an invitation to all the MLAs and MLCs to visit Medigadda and gain insights into the reality of the situation. However, the opposition BRS party criticised the Medigadda visit, labelling it as political manoeuvring.
Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted that soon after assuming power, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy conducted a thorough review of Medigadda, with the formation of a Vigilance Committee.
The committee reported instances of corruption in the project, which were further corroborated by the Dam Safety Authority.
Minister Babu expressed concern over the wastage of a significant amount of public funds due to the previous BRS government's decisions. He emphasised the need for members to witness the reality on the ground and invited them to inspect Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundillu barrages in his constituency of Manthani.
Additionally, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy extended an invitation to all the MLCs, including former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), to visit the Medigadda barrage of the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).
