Hyderabad, Jan 5 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has affirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting candidates preparing for civil services examinations and fostering opportunities for youth employment.
Speaking at a program held at Prajabhavan, Begumpet, on Sunday to distribute Rs 1 lakh financial aid under the Rajiv Gandhi Civils Abhyahastam scheme to candidates who passed the civil services mains, the Chief Minister emphasised, “Telangana was achieved with the vision of creating job opportunities. Our goal is to ensure that more candidates from our state excel in civil services, just as many from Bihar have done.”
The Chief Minister highlighted that 55,143 government job recruitments were undertaken in the first year of his government—an unprecedented move in the country. He also noted the successful completion of Group 1 examinations for 563 posts after a gap of 14 years, with recruitment set to be completed by March 31.
CM Reddy underlined the state’s proactive measures to support civil services aspirants, stating, “We are providing Rs 1 lakh assistance through the Rajiv Civils Abhyahastam to candidates, not just as financial aid but as encouragement.
Accommodation will also be provided in Delhi for those attending interviews.” He expressed hope that Telangana youth would dominate the ranks of civil service selections in the near future.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, who also addressed the gathering, highlighted the government’s plans to expand Singareni Collieries across the country. “We aim to transform Singareni into a globally renowned institution. Priority is being given to labour welfare, including free accident insurance of over Rs 1 crore for workers and the development of green energy projects in unused mining areas,” he said.
The Deputy CM emphasised the state’s focus on transitioning towards green energy through solar and pumped storage projects. Recognising the global shift away from coal, he revealed plans to leverage Singareni’s 100 years of mining expertise to explore mining for lithium and graphite.
The state government is also constructing integrated residential schools in every assembly constituency under Singareni at a cost of Rs 200 crore each to benefit workers' children.
Concluding the event, CM Reddy presented Rs 1 lakh cheques to 20 civil services candidates who cleared the mains. He expressed optimism that these candidates would achieve success in the final examination, further elevating Telangana’s reputation.
