Telangana CM announces construction of another international stadium in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Aug 2 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced on Friday in the Assembly that the state government will construct another international stadium in the city. During the debate on sports, the Chief Minister stated that the new stadium will be built near Skill University in Begarikancha. He mentioned that primary discussions regarding this project with the BCCI have already been completed. The state government is also studying Haryana's sports policy for guidance. The Chief Minister emphasized that the Congress government is committed to supporting sports in the state and has allocated Rs 321 crores in the current budget. He noted that while sports activities have declined in existing stadiums like Yusufguda, Gachibowli, Saroornagar, and L B Stadium, political activities have increased. To further support sports, the state government is offering a Group-I government job and a house site to international cricketer Mohammed Siraj. Financial support and a house site have also been extended to boxer Nikith. The Chief Minister highlighted the importance of encouraging sports activities to help youth avoid negative influences. He announced that a Sports Policy would be introduced in the next session of the Assembly and welcomed suggestions from the opposition.
