Telangana CM announces major investments & partnerships at BioAsia 2024 inauguration

Hyderabad, Feb 27 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated BioAsia 2024, Asia’s largest life-sciences and healthcare conference, announcing significant partnerships and investments on the inaugural day. In his chief guest address, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted Hyderabad's position as India's life sciences capital and unveiled plans for the expansion of Genome Valley across 300 acres. Additionally, the launch of multiple pharma villages with a total investment of Rs 1 lakh crores was announced, aiming to boost infrastructure, job creation, entrepreneurship, and generate over 5 lakh new jobs. Partnerships with global companies, including Takeda and Miltenyi, were also revealed during the event. The Genome Valley Excellence Award was presented to Nobel Laureate Prof. Gregg Semenza, and a White Paper titled 'From Volume to Value: Indian Pharma’s Transformation from Data to AI' was launched. Notable partnerships included Takeda and Biological E for manufacturing 50 million doses of dengue vaccines and Miltenyi Biotec's investment in a facility for cell and gene therapy in Hyderabad. Other major announcements included a Rs. 2000 crore investment by Terminus Group and Rx Propellant for life sciences support infrastructure, leading to the generation of more than 10,000 employment positions and the development of 3 million sq feet. The event saw global participation, featuring prominent speakers and panel discussions on topics like drug discovery, India's IP landscape in drug discovery, and geopolitical imperatives reshaping global drug supply chains.
