Hyderabad, Nov 11 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy criticised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime on Monday, claiming that the aspirations of the unemployed remained unmet during its ten-year rule.
Speaking at a ceremony in Khairatabad where appointment letters were distributed to newly hired Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors (AMVIs), Reddy emphasised his administration’s dedication to job creation, highlighting that 50,000 government jobs have been filled within just ten months of Congress taking power.
Reddy encouraged the new AMVIs to inspire youth in their communities to pursue education and prepare for competitive exams, emphasising that education paves the way to respect and recognition.
He urged them to engage with students and unemployed individuals, reinforcing a belief in government support for job seekers.
He emphasised the need for stringent measures at state borders to block the entry of drugs.
Addressing pollution, Reddy underscored the transport department’s role in reducing emissions and announced plans for an electric vehicle policy.
Countering former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s recent statement that people have realised their losses in the last ten months, Reddy asserted that “The people of Telangana have lost nothing, except for the four jobs lost in your [KCR’s] house.”
He added that during Congress’s tenure, the unemployed secured jobs, farmers benefitted from loan waivers, and various welfare schemes were launched.
He also outlined key achievements under his administration, such as the free RTC bus travel for 1.05 crore women, 200 free electricity units for nearly 50 lakh families, and affordable cooking gas for women.
Additionally, he mentioned job promotions for 21,000 teachers, the transfer of 35,000 teachers, and the initiation of "Young India Residential Schools" in 100 constituencies.
Contrasting his government’s focus on the people with that of former CM KCR, Reddy stated that while BRS invested in the Secretariat and Pragati Bhavan, the Congress is investing in education and rural development.
He added that his administration successfully conducted exams for 563 government positions and would soon issue appointment letters, inviting them to be part of Telangana’s reconstruction.
Reddy appealed for constructive criticism from the opposition, calling for support of the government’s public-centered programs rather than ongoing discord...////...
