Telangana: CM launches "Mahalakshmi Swasakthi Mahila" scheme

Hyderabad, Mar 12 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inaugurated the "Mahalakshmi Swasakthi Mahila" Scheme (Free Interest Loans) at a program held at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad on Tuesday evening. Addressing the audience, Reddy outlined the state government's goal of empowering one crore women as croropathies in the state. He acknowledged the significant role played by women in bringing the Congress party to power in the state and praised Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for granting separate statehood to Telangana, even at the potential cost to the party. Reddy criticized the previous 10-year regime led by K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), accusing it of neglecting women's issues. He cited instances where KCR allegedly opposed and neglected initiatives beneficial to women, such as free travel in RTC buses and the enhancement of medical care under Arogyasri. The Chief Minister highlighted the efforts of the Congress government in increasing the medical expenses limit of Arogyasri from Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs and extending cooking gas cylinders for Rs 500 to alleviate the burden on women. Reddy also pledged to construct 100 special markets for Self Help Groups to sell their products. Critiquing KCR and Prime Minister Modi, Reddy accused them of conspiring against the Congress government. He questioned Modi's failure to purchase crops from farmers and criticized the lack of fulfillment of promises, including the creation of two crore employment annually. Reddy also defended the creation of Telangana, refuting Modi's criticism and praising Sonia Gandhi for taking steps to pass the bill by closing the doors of the parliament, fulfilling the dream of the people of Telangana...////...
