Telangana CM rolls out welfare schemes in Narayanpet, focusing on farmers and poor

Narayanapet (Telangana), Jan 26 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched several welfare schemes, including Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Houses, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, and the distribution of ration cards, at a public event in Chandravancha village, Kosgi Mandal, Narayanpet district on Sunday. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling the six guarantees promised during the elections. He announced an increase in financial assistance for farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme to Rs 12,000 per acre annually, benefiting 70 lakh farmers across the state. The state has allocated Rs 20,000 crore for this initiative. Similarly, landless families will receive Rs 12,000 annually under the Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa scheme, targeting 10 lakh beneficiaries. Reddy also emphasised the government's focus on housing for the poor, committing to the construction of 4 lakh houses state-wide by March 31, 2026. He assured that 3,500 houses would be provided in the Kodangal constituency alone by March 31, 2025. Additionally, 40 lakh new ration cards will be distributed to eligible families across the state to ensure food security for all. The Chief Minister highlighted the achievements of previous Congress-led governments, recalling initiatives such as free electricity and loan waivers for farmers introduced by Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Sonia Gandhi. He underscored the importance of continuing this legacy through the current schemes aimed at benefiting farmers and the poor. Criticising the opposition, Reddy accused the previous administration of neglecting the Kodangal constituency and delaying crucial development projects. He pledged to expedite ongoing initiatives, including the Narayanpet Lift Irrigation Scheme and the establishment of new educational institutions in Kodangal. The Chief Minister also drew attention to the government's efforts to attract investments, citing Rs 1.78 lakh crore secured for Telangana, including partnerships formed during recent engagements in Davos. He positioned his administration as one focused on addressing the needs of the people while accusing the opposition of indulging in "loot politics."
