Hyderabad, Dec 21 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on BRS leaders during a heated debate in the Assembly on Saturday, addressing the controversial Lagacharla incident and broader governance issues.
Revanth Reddy defended his initiatives for the Kodangal constituency, stating that his efforts to bring development to the region were being deliberately obstructed.
“After independence, no one from Kodangal became a Minister. I became the Chief Minister and worked to provide opportunities for the youth of Kodangal. Was it wrong to establish a pharma city near the International Airport in Muchar? I aimed to bring industries and jobs by acquiring land where irrigation and drinking water were unavailable. Instead, they incited violence, attacked officials, and sabotaged development. How can we progress if they oppose every initiative?” he questioned.
The Chief Minister accused BRS leaders of undermining progress and carrying out the agenda of vested interests. He expressed anger, saying, “ I came from a humble beginning, from the forests of Nallamala, and rose to this position without any political patronage. Yet, they spread lies and obstruct development at every turn.”
Reddy lambasted the BRS government, claiming their policies left districts like Nalgonda neglected. “What sin has Nalgonda committed? The region suffers from fluoride-related deformities, yet no progress has been made on critical projects like SLBC or Musi purification. Is this the training that KCR has given his party members—to sabotage and provoke while ignoring the needs of the people?”
Addressing allegations of financial mismanagement by the BRS government, the Chief Minister targeted Finance Minister Harish Rao for presenting misleading data.
“The state's debt under the BRS regime skyrocketed, with loans taken at exorbitant interest rates. Contractors remain unpaid, hostels lack basic amenities, and girls avoid drinking water due to the absence of bathrooms.
Meanwhile, Rs. 1,29,650 crore was borrowed in the name of 19 corporations, with no accountability. Harish Rao’s calculations are nothing but a facade to cover up the wasteland they’ve turned Telangana into,” Reddy said.
Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his commitment to the state’s welfare, stating, “The government will not bow to provocations or sabotage. I will meet anyone, anywhere, if it benefits Telangana. Relationships with the central government are essential for the state’s development, and we will not let petty politics stand in the way...////...
