Telangana CM to lay foundation stone for Advanced Technology Centres at Mallepally ITI

Hyderabad, June 18 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone for Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Mallepally on Tuesday afternoon. These centres aim to train youth to meet the needs of modern industries. The Telangana government has decided to transform ITIs into ATCs as part of its initiative to address the requirements of Industry 4.0. To facilitate this transformation, the state has entered into a ten-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) to upgrade 65 ITIs into ATCs with a total investment of Rs 2,324.21 crore. The foundation stone ceremony will take place at 1330 hours at Mallepally ITI, an official statement said. Key details of the project include: Upgradation of 65 ITIs to ATCs: These centers will be equipped with advanced technology and equipment to train youth according to modern industry requirements. Training Capacity: TTL will appoint 130 experts to provide training. Annually, 15,860 individuals will be trained in six long-term courses, and 31,200 individuals will be trained in 23 short-term courses. Training Impact: Over the past ten years, 1.5 lakh people have been trained in ITIs across the state. The new ATCs are expected to train four lakh people over the next ten years. Project Cost: The total cost of the project is Rs 2,324.21 crore, with the state government contributing Rs 307.96 crore (13.26 per cent) and TTL contributing Rs 2,016.25 crore (86.74 per cent). Role of ATCs: In addition to training, the ATCs will serve as skill development centers and technology hubs for aspiring entrepreneurs and industries of all sizes. Job Opportunities: TTL will offer job opportunities to those trained in various courses at the ATCs. Future Expansion: The services of the ATCs will also extend to polytechnic and engineering students in the future.
