Hyderabad, Jan 28 (Reporter) G. Niranjan, Senior Vice President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), expressed the Congress party's appreciation for the announcement made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy. They revealed plans to establish a committee comprising experts from the Central Water Commission, the Central Dam Safety Authority, and engineering professionals to address the recent collapse of the Medigadda Barrage within the next two to three days. Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan during a media interaction on Sunday, Niranjan asserted that the Kaleswaram project stands as evidence of one of the most significant frauds in recent times, allegedly orchestrated under the direction of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR). Despite three months passing since the Medigadda Barrage collapse, Niranjan criticised the engineering officials for their evasive responses and lack of sincerity in addressing the aftermath. He accused these officials of neglecting the interests of the people and the state, prioritising contractors' interests, and ultimately tarnishing Telangana's reputation on a global scale. Niranjan demanded the blacklisting of all contractors involved, urging the government to closely monitor their activities and avoid assigning them additional tasks within the state. Expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of accountability, Niranjan called for immediate action based on a vigilance report. He suggested the possibility of a trial with a sitting judge or the formation of a committee comprising engineering experts not previously involved in the matter to oversee further steps.
