Hyderabad, Jan 13 (Reporter) G Niranjan, Senior Vice President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), strongly denounced the criticism levelled by former Minister and BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) regarding the issuance of separate notifications for two MLC elections. Niranjan dismissed KTR's claims of collusion between Congress and BJP, labelling them as absurd and false. Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, Niranjan refuted KTR's assertion that the MLC by-election process underwent changes only after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's meeting with Amit Shah. He clarified that CM Revanth Reddy's visit to Delhi, along with other ministers, was solely for matters related to the allotment of officials and allocation of funds to the state. Accusing KTR of misleading the public and labelling him a liar, Niranjan pointed to the press note issued by the election commission on January 4, clearly stating the conduct of three separate MLC elections — two in Telangana and one in UP. He emphasized that this information was also communicated in a letter to Telangana State Legislature Joint Secretary and Returning Officer Ch. Upender Reddy and Telangana Chief Electoral Officer on the same day. Niranjan highlighted that similar processes for MLC bye-elections had been followed in the past, with favourable judgments from honourable courts. He also recalled KCR's announcement of the assembly dissolution in 2018, where KCR claimed to have spoken to the election commissioner regarding election dates, contradicting the established electoral process. Dismissing KTR's analogy of the car going for servicing but not to the shed, Niranjan asserted that the car had become a scrap. He called on KTR to apologize for falsely slandering the Congress party...////...
