Hyderabad, Feb 12 (Reporter) Telangana Forest Department dismissed the reports of tiger sightings in Nalgonda district. A statement here on Monday said there has been a campaign suggesting the presence of a tiger in Narket Palli mandal of Nalgonda district, but the Forest Department has refuted these claims. The department stated that there is no evidence supporting the possibility of tiger movement in the area. Following reports of a tiger allegedly spotted on the outskirts of Edavelli, district forest officers conducted a thorough examination of the area. However, officials found no indication of tiger migration. Chief Wildlife Warden M C Purgain discussed the matter with district forest officials and confirmed that there are no leads or information about a tiger or leopard presence in the region. Forest officials emphasised that there is no likelihood of tigers roaming in the specified area. They pointed out that videos circulating on social media claiming tiger migration from neighbouring states are baseless. The Forest Department urges the public not to believe in such misinformation.
