Hyderabad, Nov 25 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday clarified the state government’s position regarding the ongoing controversy involving prominent industrialist Gautam Adani.
He emphasised that the Telangana government has no connection to the alleged issues and asserted that industrialists like Ambani, Adani, and Tata are free to conduct business in the state, provided they follow legal protocols.
Speaking to the media here, the Chief Minister announced that his government has decided to reject the Rs 100 crore donation announced by Adani for the Young India Skill University. He revealed that a formal communication has been sent to the Adani Group requesting them not to transfer the funds.
The Chief Minister also clarified that all tenders and projects in the state are conducted transparently and legally. “Investments from Adani were received constitutionally and by the law,” he said, urging opposition parties not to drag the government into baseless controversies.
In a sharp attack on BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR), CM Revanth Reddy alleged that KTR is desperate to go to jail, believing it would boost his chances of becoming the Chief Minister. Mocking the situation, Revanth Reddy remarked, “If going to jail makes one eligible to become CM, then Kavitha from the Kalvakuntla family would be first in line.” He accused the former CM KCR family of internal competition for the Chief Ministerial position.
Addressing questions about his frequent Delhi visit, CM Revanth Reddy clarified that this visit was solely to attend the wedding of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s daughter and had no political importance.
He added that during his stay, he plans to meet with party MPs and available Union Ministers to discuss Telangana’s developmental needs and the upcoming Parliament session.
Revanth Reddy also criticised the opposition for targeting his frequent Delhi visits. “Unlike BRS leaders, I don’t go to Delhi seeking bail; I go to secure the state’s rightful share of resources. I will go to Delhi as many times as necessary for Telangana’s development,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister took a swipe at the previous BRS government, highlighting their past collaborations with Adani on various projects. He dismissed allegations of bribery against Adani, reiterating that all dealings were as per rule.
