Telangana Govt hosts grand Vijayotsavam Sabha in Warangal to mark one year of Congress rule

Warangal, Nov 19 (Reporter) The Telangana government celebrated the completion of one year under the Congress administration with the grand “Prajapala Vijayotsava Sabha” at the Arts College Ground in Hanumakonda on Tuesday. The event, held on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, saw the venue renamed as 'Indira Mahila Shakti Praanganam' (venue) in her honour. Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy paid rich tributes to Indira Gandhi, calling her the "Iron Lady" and dedicating the program to women. He highlighted the government's commitment to transforming women's lives and making them entrepreneurs, saying, "Our administration is committed to turning women into millionaires and providing unprecedented opportunities for them to lead." Revanth Reddy listed several pro-women initiatives, including free RTC bus travel for women, cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500, 200 units of free power to the poor, and the establishment of solar power plants managed by women’s groups. He claimed these measures had provided women in Telangana with unparalleled freedoms and opportunities within ten months of Congress' rule. The Chief Minister also emphasized the government’s focus on developing Warangal, announcing a massive allocation of Rs 6,000 crore for the city’s growth. “Developing Warangal means developing half of Telangana. We will not rest until Warangal is transformed into a city matching Hyderabad,” he declared. He also credited the Congress government with completing long-delayed projects, such as the Kaloji Kalakshetra, within ten months, and highlighted loan waivers worth Rs 18,000 crore benefiting 22 lakh farmer families. Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on opposition leaders, accusing former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of neglecting public welfare during his tenure. "KCR wanted to turn Telangana into a state of drunkards while ignoring farmers and the common people. Today, we are waiving loans and empowering citizens," he stated. He also criticised BJP leader Kishan Reddy, calling him a "slave to Modi" and praising Sonia Gandhi for her role in creating Telangana. “Sonia Gandhi is the mother of Telangana, who fulfilled the aspirations of four crore people. We are ready to wash her feet as a mark of respect,” he said. Revanth Reddy assured the public of continued efforts to fulfill all promises, including waiving remaining farmer loans and addressing citizens' concerns. "When Congress makes a promise, we deliver, even at the cost of our lives," he remarked.
