Telangana Govt hosts Hyderabad Rising celebrations

Hyderabad, Dec 3 (Reporter) The Telangana government on Tuesday evening hosted the grand “Hyderabad Rising” celebrations at the HMDA Ground on NTR Marge as part of the Prajapalala-Vijayostams celebrations. During the celebration, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy virtually launched a series of transformative development projects under the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, with a total investment of Rs 5,827 crore. These projects aim to advance urban infrastructure, improve water management, and streamline administrative processes across Hyderabad and its surrounding areas. Among the major initiatives, the CM laid the foundation stone for Rs 3,446 crore worth of development works under the HCITI Phase-1 project within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), marking a significant step toward urban growth. The beautification of roads and junctions with an investment of Rs 150 crore was also initiated, enhancing the city's aesthetics. In addition, a Rs 17 crore project aimed at conserving rainwater and managing floodwaters was launched to bolster the city's resilience against extreme weather events. The Chief Minister inaugurated sewage treatment infrastructure valued at Rs 669 crore, developed by the Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board, to address water and sanitation challenges. Furthermore, 19 reservoirs, constructed at a cost of Rs 45 crore around the Outer Ring Road, were inaugurated to ensure a reliable supply of drinking water. A Rs 1,500 crore road development package under the Hyderabad Roads and Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) was also unveiled, which includes both new initiatives and the completion of previously delayed works. In a move toward digital governance, the CM introduced a new online building and layout approval system integrated with artificial intelligence, scheduled to be operational by February 2025.
