Hyderabad, Mar 2 (Reporter) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced the launch of the "Indiramma Housing Scheme" on March 11, instructing officials to make necessary arrangements for the initiation of this housing program for the underprivileged in the state. As part of the Six Guarantees initiative, the government will undertake the ambitious housing scheme as a prestigious program, emphasised the Chief Minister. In a review meeting attended by Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and Chief Minister's Advisor Vem Narendra Reddy, along with Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, R&B Secretary Srinivasa Raju, and other officials, guidelines for the implementation of the housing scheme were discussed and planned, a statement said on Saturday night. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that the housing scheme benefits all eligible individuals without their own homes. Guidelines are to be finalised accordingly, with priority given to those who submitted applications in the Praja Palana. CM Revanth Reddy cautioned officials against repeating mistakes from the previous government's construction of double-bedroom houses, emphasising that only the original beneficiaries should benefit. A tentative decision was made to allocate 3,500 houses to each constituency during the meeting, with the CM expressing hope that the dream of homeownership for the homeless poor would be fulfilled in a phased manner. Under the Indiramma housing scheme, the government will provide Rs 5 lakh financial assistance for house construction to those who already own a housing plot. A piece of land and Rs 5 lakh will be given as a housing scheme benefit to those who do not possess a plot. The Chief Minister instructed officials to prepare rules and guidelines for the phased release of funds, emphasising the need for strict guidelines to prevent fund misuse by beneficiaries. The CM suggested that various house models and designs be made available for those building on their own plots, with a mandatory inclusion of a kitchen and toilet in the construction. Additionally, the Chief Minister proposed handing over the responsibility of monitoring house construction to the Engineering wings in various departments, supervised by District Collectors...////...
