Hyderabad, May 3 (Reporter) In a significant setback for BRS, the Telangana High Court delivered a verdict on Friday invalidating the election of its MLC, Dande Vittal, and levied a fine of Rs 50,000. Dande Vittal was elected as the MLC of Adilabad local bodies in 2022. However, the court found that Vittal, nominated as the official candidate of BRS, had forged the signature of BRS leader Pattireddy Rajeshwar Reddy to eliminate him from the competition. Reddy, disappointed with the denial of a ticket, had filed his nomination as an independent candidate. In response, Vittal's forgery resulted in Reddy's nomination withdrawal. Rajeshwar Reddy brought the matter to the attention of the High Court, stating that he did not withdraw his nomination and that his signature was forged.
