Hyderabad, Apr 1 (Reporter) Telangana Irrigation Minister Capt. Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress party will secure victory in 14 parliamentary seats out of 17 in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 13. Speaking at a press conference held at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Uttam asserted that neither the BJP nor the BRS would secure their deposits in the Nalgonda Parliament Constituency. He added that apart from Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhara Rao's family (KCR family), all other opposition MLAs are prepared to join the Congress after seeing the Congress governance. Uttam clarified that white ration cards would be issued to eligible individuals following the Election Code. Regarding the issue of phone tapping, Uttam stated that there would be no leniency towards those responsible, asserting that even his phone had been tapped. He warned that regardless of the stature of the individuals involved in the tapping, they would face consequences. Commenting on KCR's daughter Kavitha's legal entanglement and the sheep scam, Uttam hinted at further repercussions related to the phone tapping issue. He also addressed pending bills worth Rs. 40,000 crore, asserting that there were no issues with drinking water or electricity in Telangana. Contrasting their approach with KCR's, Uttam emphasised their commitment to public service, claiming they do not reside in farmhouses but rather attend the secretariat daily and review matters weekly. Uttam criticised KCR's recent statements to the media, labelling them as lies driven by depression and frustration. He also predicted the demise of BRS after the parliamentary elections. Further, Uttam addressed concerns regarding the Bhadradri power project, labelling it as outdated and burdensome for the people.
