Hyderabad, May 4 (Reporter) Telangana Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister, Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy, criticized BRS Chief K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) for disseminating false information regarding the Godavari and Krishna River waters, Singareni Collieries, and other pertinent issues.
Addressing the media during an election campaign in Suryapet district for Congress candidate K Raghuveera Reddy from Nalgonda on Saturday, Reddy denounced KCR's recent accusations against the Congress government.
Referring to KCR's statements made at a roadshow in Ramagundam following a 48-hour ban imposed by the Election Commission for offensive language, Uttam Kumar Reddy remarked, "Instead of reflecting on his behavior during the ban, KCR resumed his speech with more lies, continuing to blame Congress for actions taken during his government. As the saying goes, 'Old habits die hard.'"
Reddy clarified that it was the KCR government, not Congress, that agreed to hand over Telangana's projects to the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB). He accused KCR of attempting to mislead the public by repeating false claims.
Regarding the Singareni issue, Reddy explained KCR's attempt, in collaboration with the Modi government, to privatize Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), which Congress opposed, resulting in its cancellation. He criticized KCR for silence when the BJP government sought to privatize four coal blocks in Telangana.
The Minister highlighted Congress's efforts within three months of coming to power to streamline SCCL's operations and launch a Rs. 1 crore accident insurance scheme for Singareni employees. He accused KCR of neglecting SCCL and its workers for nine-and-a-half years and using scare tactics to win their votes ahead of elections.
Reddy also cautioned against false promises and divisive rhetoric spread by BJP leaders. He accused the BJP government of failing to fulfill promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act and depriving Telangana of its rightful share in central schemes and funds. He asserted that the BJP and BRS governments were collaborating to harm Telangana's interests.
Reddy emphasized the Congress-led coalition's commitment to rectifying injustices perpetrated by the BJP and BRS regimes, highlighting Congress's special manifesto with 23 major promises...////...
