Telangana: Ranga Reddy Dist. Joint collector in ACB net for taking Rs 8 lakh bribe

Hyderabad, Aug 13 (Reporter) The Ranga Reddy district Joint Collector and senior Assistant working at the District collector's office have been taken into custody by the Anti corruption Bureau (ACB) on graft charges. The Joint collector MV Bhoopal Reddy was taken into custody by the ACB after the Senior Assistant Y Madan Mohan Reddy was caught red-handed on Monday night while accepting a bribe of Rs 8 lakh at the behest of the Joint collector from one JakkidiMuthyam Reddy, of Balapur Mandal, to remove the 14 guntas of land from prohibited list in Dharani website. The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of Mohan Reddy, from his car, ACB said in a release here. On questioning, the Senior Assistant informed that he had demanded the bribe on behalf of Bhoopal Reddy, Joint Collector. When Mohan Reddy, called up Bhoopal Reddy, over the phone and informed the official about the receipt of the bribe amount, the Joint Collector instructed him to come to Peddamberpet ORR to hand over the bribe amount, the release said. “At around 2241 Hours, Bhoopal Reddy, reached near Peddamberpet ORR in his official vehicle and stopped near the vehicle of Mohan Reddy, who handed over the amount to Bhoopal Reddy . The bribe amount was recovered from the bag found in the Joint Collector’s car. The accused officers abused their official position powers vested in them and demanded and accepted the bribe amount. The accused officers will be arrested and produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases court at Hyderabad, the release added...////...
