Hyderabad/Davos, Jan 23 (Reporter) The Government of Telangana has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSW UAV Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Defence, to establish a cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) manufacturing facility in the state.
In collaboration with a leading US-based defence technology company, JSW UAV plans to invest approximately Rs 800 crore in this strategic initiative. This project is expected to create over 200 high-value jobs, further strengthening Telangana’s reputation as a hub for advanced technology and defence innovation.
The MoU represents a significant achievement in Telangana's efforts to position itself as a preferred destination for investments in advanced manufacturing technologies. It highlights the state’s commitment to fostering innovation, driving economic growth, and creating employment opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy welcomed the investment, stating, "Hyderabad and Telangana have long been recognized globally as leaders in the software and pharmaceutical sectors. Through clear vision and diligent efforts, we are now establishing Telangana as a frontrunner for manufacturing investments across diverse sectors, including semiconductors, defence, private space technology, and FMCG. Our efforts to position Telangana as a preferred destination for the world's 'China Plus One' strategy are yielding tangible results."
IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu expressed enthusiasm for the agreement, commenting, "This partnership will set a benchmark in the defence manufacturing sector. We are committed to ensuring that Telangana becomes one of India’s largest manufacturing hubs, driving growth and innovation."
