Hyderabad, Aug 12 (Reporter) BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) expressed concern over the challenges faced by Telangana's agriculture sector under Congress rule.
In a Twitter post, KTR stated, “After the record-breaking performance under KCR Garu, it is concerning to note that the farming sector has taken a severe hit since the Congress government took over."
He highlighted several issues plaguing the sector, including uncertainty over irrigation water, a lack of critical inputs like seeds and fertilizers, and the absence of Rythu Bharosa investment support. According to KTR, these problems have severely impacted Telangana farmers.
"As of August 10, sowing operations have been completed on only 84.6 lakh acres, which is just 65.4 per cent of the normal cultivation area of 1.29 crore acres for the current Vanakalam (winter) season," KTR noted.
Agricultural scientists fear that this could be Telangana’s lowest crop-sown area for the Vanakalam season in the last five years, leading to a significant drop in overall crop production.
