Vijayawada, Oct 26 (Reporter) Maintaining that the entire Telugu community across the globe got recognition only after the formation of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the party supremo and
Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday termed the TDP as a political university.
All the senior leaders in the two Telugu States have roots in the TDP, Naidu said after enrolling himself with the party as a member at the party central office at Mangalagiri this morning.
Receiving the membership card from the president of the State unit of the party, Palla Srinivasa Rao, the TDP supremo said the anecdote of Telugus can be explained before and after the formation of the TDP.
The party founder, the Late NT Rama Rao, after becoming the chief minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh, brought recognition across the globe, Chandrababu fondly recalled.
"We really feel proud to move ahead taking the slogan given by the Late NTR that 'society is the temple and people are gods' as an inspiration. Through a zoom meeting Chandrababu consoled
the family members of those who died in various attacks by the YSRCP leaders.
Later addressing the party activists, Chandrababu said that it is a really sacred day that the party membership drive is launched and everyone gets respect and recognition in society after becoming
a member of the TDP.
Everyone feels that carrying the TDP membership card itself is something prestigious, he added.
Claiming that TDP introduced the insurance system in the country for party workers in the party, Naidu said that those who enrolled as TDP activists by paying Rs 100 would get Rs 5 lakh
insurance.
"Some leaders are voluntarily coming forward for lifetime membership in the party. We have spent
Rs 120 crore till now for the party activists while Rs 102 crore insurance amount is paid for 5,113 activists," Chandrababu said terming the TDP as a totally different outfit than others.
"We have already exhibited our strength in the recent elections in the State by giving priority to all the communities. It is the combined victory for the TDP, the Jana Sena and the BJP which fought the polls jointly," he said.
Free cooking gas cylinders scheme is being implemented from Deepavali while the garbage tax, the 217 GO and the Swarnakara (goldsmith) corporation have been revoked, the Chief Minister said.
Land has already been assigned for the establishment of Railway Zone and house-sites measuring two cents in urban areas and three cents in rural areas are going to be allotted to the beneficiaries soon, the Chief Minister said...////...
