Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed immense joy, stating that it is a matter of great happiness to witness cheetahs, once extinct in the Asian continent, now thriving and expanding their family on the sacred land of Madhya Pradesh. He remarked that Madhya Pradesh, which embodies the spirit of "Jeev Charachar Jantu Samana" (all living beings are equal), has become a unique sanctuary for wildlife, providing shelter to several endangered species. Dr. Yadav emphasized the state's commitment to preserving wildlife and biodiversity for future generations. He affirmed that Madhya Pradesh would continue to take innovative steps to enhance its rich natural heritage. The Chief Minister released female cheetahs Asha, Dheera, and Asha’s three cubs into the open forest from their enclosure at Palpur-Kuno National Park on wednesday. He expressed confidence that Kuno would establish itself as a significant tourism destination. He recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier released two cheetahs into the wild, marking the beginning of cheetah reintroduction in India. Dr. Yadav stated that it was his privilege to release five cheetahs into the forest and extended his congratulations to the citizens of the state.
