Hyderabad, Jan 7 (Reporter) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Karri Jagadish, Circle Inspector of Police, Thorrur, Mahabubabad district, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe to show official favour. In a statement, the ACB said on Tuesday, the accused officer (AO) demanded a bribe of Rs 4,00,000 from a complainant on October 2, 2024, to prevent the complainant's arrest in Cr. No. 132/2024. The AO promised to instruct the sub-inspector of police, Danthalapalli police station, not to arrest the complainant, issue a 35(3) BNSS notice, and ensure no future harassment. The officer initially accepted Rs 2,00,000 as part of the bribe and demanded the remaining amount later. The ACB found that the officer had acted improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. For security reasons, the complainant’s identity has been withheld.
