Namakkal (Tamil Nadu), Nov 10 (Reporter) Three engineering students were drowned in River Cauvery at Nagapalayam in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday evening and their bodies were recovered on Sunday. Police said the deceased were identified as C.Vineeth (21), a final year aeronautical engineering student of a private college at Komarapalayam, his collegemates B.Sheik Faizal Rahman (21) of Nellore in Andhra Pradesh and D.Nandhakumar (21), hailing from Dharmapuri district. Sheikh Faizal Rahman and Nandhakumar visited the house of Vineeth at Nagapalayam on Saturday. The trio went to River Cauvery for a bath when theymet with the watery grave. Since they did not return home till late in the evening, the family members of Vineeth went to the bathing ghats where they found the dresses and other belongings of the missing students. On being informed, the Jedarpalayam police alerted Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Department personnel, who rushed to the site and searched for them. Due to darkness, the rescue operation was abandoned and it was resumed this morning. After hours long searches, the bodies of all the three students were rescued at different spots in River Cauvery today.
