Hyderabad, June 5 (Reporter) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) senior Vice-President G Niranjan stated that the country has been saved from great danger with the BJP's failure to secure an absolute majority. Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, he mentioned that people, who were concerned about the divisive propaganda of Modi and Amit Shah, now feel relieved. He noted that the BJP campaigned with the slogan "Char Sau Par," promising to implement a common civil code, abolish Muslim reservations, and enforce their hidden agenda. Despite using the Ayodhya Ram Temple as a political campaign with the slogan "Jai Shri Ram," the BJP secured only 33 of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh. The party, which won 282 seats in 2014 and 303 seats in 2019, managed to win only 240 seats this time. They failed to achieve an absolute majority on their own in this election, falling short by 63 seats compared to 2019. The NDA, which secured 336 seats in 2014 and 353 seats in 2019, dropped to 295 seats this time, including 12 seats from JDU, 16 from TDP, and 2 from Janasena Party. Niranjan criticized Modi for claiming he would become Prime Minister despite not having an absolute majority and being elected as the Prime Minister candidate in the NDA meeting. He stated this is proof of Modi's thirst for power. He also pointed out that typically, the party leader is elected at the parliamentary party meeting after the election, and the Prime Minister is finalized only after the NDA leader is elected in the NDA meeting. In a press conference yesterday, Rahul Gandhi, when asked if the INDIA Alliance would form the government, said, "Tomorrow the INDIA Alliance will meet and take a decision." Niranjan highlighted this as a demonstration of Gandhi's democratic spirit. He also mentioned that Chandrababu Naidu, during the election campaign in Andhra Pradesh, promised to continue Muslim reservations if his government came to power. Niranjan noted that it remains to be seen how Naidu will reconcile his stance with the NDA's Common Minimum Program if he continues in the NDA in the future...////...
