Hyderabad, May 4 (Reporter) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Senior Vice President and Chairman of the party Election Commission Coordination Committee, G Niranja, filed a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of the Election Commission of India (ECI) Rajiv Kumar on Saturday against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during his visit to Bardhaman, West Bengal.
In his complaint, a copy of which was released to the media, Niranja highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's derogatory remarks against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi during an election rally in Bardhaman on Friday.
Modi allegedly mocked Rahul Gandhi, who recently filed his candidacy for the Raebareli parliamentary constituency, by stating that the Congress leader is so scared that he fled from Amethi to Raebareli and is now seeking refuge there.
Further disparaging remarks were made by Modi about Sonia Gandhi's decision not to contest in the Lok Sabha elections but to secure a Rajya Sabha seat via Rajasthan, with Modi claiming to have predicted this scenario earlier.
Niranja condemned Modi's attacks and derogatory language against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, citing it as a violation of the Model Code of Conduct. He urged the CEC to take strict action against Modi for his offensive remarks...////...
