Train accident : CM Stalin deputes Minister, CS to monitor relief work, provide assistance to passengers

Chennai, Oct 11 (Reporter) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday night directed Minister SM Nasar from Tiruvallur district to rush to the spot and monitor the rescue operations following the train collision at Kavaraipettai involving an express and goods train. He also askd Chief Secretary N Muruganandam and other senior officials to rush to the spot to assist in relief an rescue operations. Mr Stalin also instructed the Tiruvallur district administration and Southern Railway officials to expedite the rescue and relief operations, besides ensuring all medical and basic facilities to the affected passengers and transport them. He also asked the officials to ensure adequate medical facilities at the spot and also at the hospitals for treating the injured. Meanwhile, Railway sources said rescued passengers were being taken to the MGR Chennai Central Railway Station by an EMU. Another train was readied at the Chennai Central Station to take rescued passengers to Darbhanga and other destinations along the way...////...
