Chennai, Oct 12 (Reporter) The Southern Railway on Saturday evening said coaches and wagons,
which were derailed in last night's collision between the Mysuru-Darbhanga Bagmati Express
and a stationary goods train on the loop line at Kavaraipettai Railway station, were removed
from the tracks.
In an update on restoration works at Kavaraipettai accident site, Railways said the UP Line at Kavaraipettai Station has been cleared of derailed coaches.
The Engineering Track and OHE Works have commenced.
The restoration work at Kavaraipettai is progressing rapidly, with the UP line now cleared of derailed coaches and wagons.
A total of 10 coaches, including 9 AC coaches and a power car from Mysuru-Dharbanga Bagmati Express, along with 2 wagons from the goods train, have been removed using cranes.
With the derailed rolling stock cleared, engineering track restoration and Overhead Equipment (OHE) work have commenced.
Railway General Manager R N Singh said that normal services in the section would be resumed
tomorrow morning...////...
