Agartala, April 25 (Reporter) A 27-year-old BSF jawan, hailing from Maharashtra and deployed for Lok Sabha election duty in the East Tripura parliamentary constituency, was found dead inside a bus on Thursday while enroute to the security camp in Kanchanpur under the North Tripura district.
The deceased, identified as Raksa Nargis Keshav (27) and posted to the 199th battalion of BSF in Panisagar, was a resident of Latur.
He was found with a bullet injury in the head and slept on the pool of blood on the floor of the bus.
According to police, around 11 PM, Keshav was returning to the camp along with 22 other jawans completing security patrolling, and the deceased was sitting in the last seat of the bus alone.
Police said, “It is believed to be an accident, and chances of suicide can’t be ruled out because when the bus fell into a gorge on the road, the sound of a bullet was heard by others. The bus stopped a few yards ahead, and he was found dead.”
Police argued it might have happened that after a daylong tiring duty, Keshav was sleeping on the bus with the loaded rifle, and when it fell into the gorge, somehow the trigger might have been pressed unconsciously and the bullet hit his head, but nothing was conclusive yet.
The jawan's rifle was found unlocked beside him inside the bus, police added...////...
