Tripura CM led two rallies of BJP nominees for Panchayat poll

Agartala, July 18 (Reporter) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha led two separate processions of BJP candidates in West Tripura and Gomati districts for the ensuing three-tier Panchayat polls on the last day of nomination on Thursday. Dr Saha along with BJP state President Rajib Bhattacharjee and others attended the rally in Agartala in the morning to submit the nomination for Zilla Parishad candidates of BJP to the District Magistrate of West Tripura. Later, CM accompanied by Finance Minister Pranajit Singharoy attended the rally for the submission of nominations of the BJP candidates for Gomati Zilla Parishad followed by interaction with the party workers on the preparation for elections. Dr Saha said, “The people of Tripura are overwhelmed with the governance and developmental activities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The citizens of the state don’t believe in any other parties, as they were tested and failed for several years and are now rejected by the people after seeing the pro-people government of BJP.” He asserted that there are all indications that lotus will bloom across the state in the Panchayats, Block Samiti, and Zilla Parishads like assembly and Loksabha. He, however, urged the peace-loving people of the state to maintain law and order and to be respectful of the law of the land. Meanwhile, opposition CPI-M alleged that BJP cadres attacked them in the Hapania area of Agartala on Thursday when their rally was proceeding towards Dukli block for submission of nominations. The miscreants pelted bricks, stones, and bottles at the rally, which left several injured but police deployed at the rally were inactive...////...
