Agartala, Sep 18 (Reporter) Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Wednesday lodged complaints in multiple police stations against three BJP leaders and a Shiv Sena MLA for issuing an open threat to Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
The accused included Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, Shiv Sena MLA of Maharashtra Sanjay Gaikwad, Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad, Minister of Uttar Pradesh Raghuraj Singh and Ex-BJP MLA of Delhi Tarvinder Singh Marwah.
Besides, Congress workers demonstrated in several locations of the state and burnt the effigies of the accused leader requesting police to register FIR against them under sections 351(3)/356/353(2)(3) and 353(1)(c) of BNS 2023, as it claimed that the statements hurt TPCC President Ashis Kumar Saha and his party workers.
He complained, “Shiv Sena MLA Gaikwad on Monday in a statement called the public to cut the tongue of Rahul Gandhi and announced a cash reward of Rs 11 lakh to whoever will be able to cut the tongue, which had made to harm Mr Gandhi and defame Congress party.”
On the other, Union Minister Bittu also made a statement calling Rahul Gandhi an “extremist” and stated that he is not an Indian and the No. 1 enemy of India. He also provoked the public on the grounds of race, caste, and community, and is likely to create and indulge feelings of enmity, hatred, and ill will between regional groups and communities, Saha stated.
Two other accused BJP leaders – Raghuraj Singh and Tarvinder Singh called Rahul Gandhi a terrorist that not only disgraced his position but also put his life in danger, he underlined and added, that Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother Indira Gandhi, and father Rajiv Gandhi were assassinated in the criminal attacks during their tenure as Prime Minister of India.
“Unless the leaders were not booked immediately for such criminal intimidation to the President of the grand old party of the country and leader of the opposition, criminals will be encouraged and brought more dangers for the country,” Saha pointed out...////...
