Tripura govt to set up 4 new CBI camp offices & CDTI in state : CM

Agartala, Jan 18 (Reporter) The Tripura government has decided to set up four new camp offices of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and also identified a land for establishing Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) in the state, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said here on Wednesday. He was interacting with the state police personnel as part of the celebration of Police Week. Dr Saha underlined that the state government has been working in a mission mode to speed up the investigation of criminal cases, for which priority has been set to further enhance the infrastructure of investigation agencies and apparatus. Also, the government wanted to zero down the criminal activities by adopting multipronged strategies including strengthening the police force. “We are in the process of setting up four camp offices for CBI in North Tripura, Unakoti, Khowai, and Dhalai districts. About 10 acres of land have been identified in Bodhjung Nagar for setting up the Central Detective Training Institute. We have also opened an NBCC office in Jackson Gate in the city, and are working to address the infrastructure issues of Tripura Police,” the Chief Minister stated. “Tripura police have been working with a great reputation, upholding the glory of 150 years of history, resulting in a significant decline in the overall crime rate in the state and improved law and order in our state. We aim for a 100 per cent saturation point, and all of us need to work together,” Dr Saha said. He claimed crimes against women have reduced substantially, the fight against drugs and land mafias has been stepped up further, and crimes related to general law and order have drastically declined. Tripura State Rifles (TSR) has achieved significant recognition nationally, with two battalions deployed in Delhi and Chhattisgarh, and has been showing an outstanding performance. “Tripura received a request from Manipur to provide training to their constables in our KTDS Police Training Academy, which provides high-quality training to police personnel,” Dr Saha added...////...
