Agartala, Feb 6 (Reporter) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced that government and aided schools have been utilizing indigenously developed Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) to enhance cognitive development in elementary education. Under NIPUN Tripura initiative, children aged 3 to 7 years receive specialized training to improve reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. Speaking at the state-Level TL exhibition-cum-competition on Thursday Dr Saha highlighted the progress of the NIPUN Mission, launched in 2022, and emphasized its positive impact. He dismissed criticisms of the education system, asserting that government schools are improving significantly. As part of the initiative, NIPUN Corners have been set up in 4,227 schools, benefiting over 90,000 students. More than 10,000 teachers have been trained to create TLMs using locally available resources. These materials simplify learning basic concepts like alphabets, words, arithmetic operations addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. To strengthen the initiative, 200 Block Resource Persons have been deployed as master trainers to train elementary school teachers in their respective areas.
