Patna, Sep 25 (Reporter) Altogether, twelve children drowned in Aurangabad, West Champaran, and Saran districts of Bihar while they were taking a bath on Wednesday.
Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Santan Kumar Singh of Aurangabad district said here that a total of eight children drowned in Madanpur and Barun blocks of the district while they were taking baths along with their relatives. Incidents took place in ponds and rivers.
Besides other water bodies in both the blocks, he added.
"Children were taking baths along with their relatives on the occasion of Jeewtia when the incident took place," he said, adding that those who died in the incident were identified as Ankaj Kumar (8 years), Sonali Kumari (13 years), Neelam Kumari (12 years), Rakhi Kumari (112 years), Nisha Kumari (119 years), Anku Kumari (11 years), Chulbuli (12 years), and Lajo Kumari.

Similarly, two children drowned while taking a bath in Sabdara and Bhrwalia villages of Manjhi and Daudpur police station area in Saran district of Bihar.
