Karimnagar (Telangana), Jan 25 (Reporter) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, made pointed remarks regarding the allocation of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
He stated that naming these houses after "Indiramma" nullifies the purpose of the scheme and questioned the rationale behind sanctioning a single house under such conditions.
The Minister also criticised the Congress government for excluding the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photograph from ration cards, despite free rice being distributed under a central government initiative.
He demanded that ration cards include the Prime Minister's photo alongside that of the Chief Minister, failing which he suggested the Centre might consider directly distributing free rice to the poor.
Speaking at a programme where Karimnagar Mayor Sunil Rao, two corporators, and hundreds of BRS leaders officially joined the BJP, Sanjay dismissed claims of large-scale investments from Davos.
He labelled the MoUs worth over Rs 1.78 lakh crore as propaganda, alleging that only a fraction of the promised investments materialised over the past decade.
He challenged the state government to release a white paper detailing actual jobs created and investments implemented since 2014.
Welcoming the new members to the BJP, Sanjay expressed confidence in the party's leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He emphasised that while many are eager to join the BJP, those with a history of land grabbing would not be admitted. He credited the Modi government with providing significant funds for Karimnagar's development and accused the ten BRS government of sidelining him despite his efforts to secure Smart City funds.
He criticised Congress for its alleged inaction and questioned its integrity in handling Davos investments.
Highlighting issues like the non-payment of Arogyasri dues, delays in fee reimbursements for students, and suicides by former sarpanches over unpaid bills, Sanjay said central funds are the backbone of development in villages and towns.
He assured voters that if the BJP wins the upcoming corporation elections, the party would ensure 24-hour water supply to the entire Karimnagar corporation with direct central funding...////...
