Union Minister Giriraj Singh demands Bharat Ratna for Nitish Kumar

Patna, Dec 25 (Reporter) Union Minister and senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Wednesday demanded felicitation of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar with the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of the country, saying his contribution in development of the state is unparalleled. Singh said that Kumar had taken reins of Bihar in 2005 then reeling under spates of crimes and lawlessness for long 15 years during RJD regime since 1990. Kumar had made sincere efforts in establishing rule of law and ensured Bihar to move on fast track of development and prosperity, he added. "Kumar should be conferred with Bharat Ratna award for his immense contribution to Bihar and also in public life during his long political career ", the Union Minister said, adding that former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should also be felicitated with same honour for his immense contribution to the state. Earlier, JD(U) working president Sanjay Jha had also earlier demanded Bharat Ratna for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Other senior leaders of JD(U) had also demanded same feat for Kumar. Meanwhile, RJD spokesman Ejaj Ahmad ridiculed Singh for demanding Bharat Ratna award for Kumar, saying it was his attempt to create a false impression that BJP had great respect for the CM. It was BJP government at the Centre and from which Giriraj was demanding Bharat Ratna award for Nitish.
