Khammam (Telangana), Sep 8 (Reporter) Union Coal and Mines Minister, and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy stated that unprecedented floods have devastated Khammam, leaving many residents homeless. During his visit to the flood-affected areas of Danchalapuram in Khammam district on Sunday, the Union Minister enquired about the challenges faced by flood victims and inspected the drainage conditions in the catchment area. Later, essential goods and blankets were distributed to the victims at the Kandagadla function hall in Agraharam Colony. Reddy emphasised that this is not the time for politics, and both the central and state governments will work together to support the people. He mentioned that during the floods, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to discuss the situation. He also highlighted that Rs 1,345 crore has been reserved under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), and Prime Minister Modi has directed that these funds be utilised for flood relief efforts.
