Union Ministers, CMs of various states, offer prayers to Lords in Jagannath temple

Puri, June 12 (Reporter) Several Union Ministers and chief ministers of various states visited Sri Jagannath temple on Wednesday and offered prayers to the presiding deities. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister for Railways Aswiny Vaishaw, Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupindar Yadav, and local MP Sambit Patra visited the temple in the morning. Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant came in the afternoon, followed by Haryana chief minister Naib Singh Sainy and Hemanta Vishwa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam. Rajnath Singh, Aswiny Vaishnaw, and Sambit Patra feasted on Mahaprasad on traditional banana leaf plates inside the special circuit house. The VVIP guests were welcomed by the district and temple administration. They were presented with traditional Khandua by the temple administration and some servitors. Meanwhile, the administration has been working on war footing to open all four gates of the temple for devotees after chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced to open all four gates on Thursday morning.
