Bengaluru, April 29 (Reporter) Former Union Minister and Lok Sabha member V Srinivas Prasad passed away in Bengaluru here on Monday.
He won the Chamaraja Nagar Lok Sabha seat in Karnataka on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket.
Prasad was 76 years old and was suffering from old-age-related ailments. He was admitted to a private hospital here for treatment.
Born on July 6, 1947, in Mysore, Prasad was initially associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vidyarthi Parishad.
Prasad was a minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government between 1999 and 2004 and in the Karnataka government between 2013 and 16.
He also joined Congress, Janata Dal United, and the Samata Party in his political career. He announced his retirement from politics last month.
Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar condoled the death of Shri Prasad and described him as a crusader of social justice...////...
