Shillong, Oct 15 (Reporter) Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar will embark on a two-day visit to Meghalaya on October 16 and 17, an official said on Tuesday .
This will be Dhankar’s maiden visit to Meghalaya after being elected as Vice President.
During the visit, the Vice President will lay the foundation stone of the Meghalaya Skill and Innovation Hub at Mawdiangdiang, New Shillong. He would also visit IT Park and the under-construction Assembly building in New Shillong Township.
The Vice President will also meet Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and senior government officials. Later in the evening, Dhankar will grace the Cultural Evening and State Reception at Durbar Hall Raj Bhavan, Shillong.
On October 17, the Vice President will plant saplings ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ at Raj Bhavan, Shillong. Dhankar will visit Arwah Cave, Nohkalikai Falls and 7 Sister Falls - Sohra (Cherrapunji).
Elaborate arrangements were being made for the Vice President’s visit. The roads on which he will travel were being repaired and the roadsides were being decked up, officials said.
