Vijayadashami celebrates in Marathwada region

Chhatrapati Sambhaijnagar, Oct 12 (Reporter) Vijayadashami, tenth day of Navratri Utsav, a symbol of victory of good over evil, is also considered one of the three and a half 'Muhurat' being celebrated in the eight districts of the Marathwada region with traditional fervour on Sunday. Reports reaching from all the district headquarters here stated that, since morning, people have been seen to purchase marigold flowers for making garlands to put in front of their respective entrance doors and vehicles and 'gold leaf' to distribute to each other later this evening after meeting with each other and exchanging their wishes to them. People thronged into markets to buy clothes, puja articles, sweets, jewellery, and electronics goods. The nine-day-long Navratri festival with 'Ghatsthapna' (installation of the idol of Goddess) at two 'Shaktipeets' in Marathwada region, including Mahur's 'Renuka Mata' in Nanded district and 'Maa Tuljabhavai' at Tuljapur in Duarashiv district, which are the two 'Shaktipeets' out of 52 in the country, concluded today given Vijayadashmi. Procession of immersion of installed Devi idols has been started this afternoon on this occasion. About 10 to 15 lakhs of devotees from states and neighbouring states visited these temples for 'Darshan' of Goddess Renuka and Tulja Bhavai during the nine-day-long festival, sources said. In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a procession of ‘Balaji Palkhi' is being taken out on the premises of the Karnapura Maa Tulja Bhavani temple. Later this evening, effigies of Ravana, Indrajit, and Kumbakarna effigies will burn at different places, including Ramlila Maidan at N-7 Cidco locality and Waluj locality, among other places in the region...////...
