Bengaluru, Jan 18 (Reporter) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Saturday hailed the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) attachment of properties linked to the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, calling it a "major victory" for the party in the ongoing battle against corruption.
The ED’s investigation has brought to light allegations of illegal site allocations under the influence of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, involving his wife and other benami entities. He reiterated the demand for a comprehensive Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry, suggesting that the scam could involve misappropriation of thousands of crores in public funds.
Vijayendra called for CM Siddaramaiah’s immediate resignation to facilitate an impartial investigation. "The ED’s findings expose a deep-rooted system of misuse of power, and it’s time for the Chief Minister to step aside for the truth to emerge," he said.
