Imphal, Jan 25 (Reporter) Manipur Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi encouraged the new voters to exercise their democratic rights in a free, fair, and peaceful manner in the coming general election as the state observed the 14th National Voters’ Day on Thursday.
Joshi appealed to the young new voters to be alert, know the value of voting, and come out and participate in the elections. He also administered the oath of National Voters Day pledge to the gathering.
Additional Chief Secretary MH Khan said that the constitution has given the citizens the right to elect their leader. "If we do not choose the correct leader, our future will be spoiled," he remarked while appealing to the voters to use their rights wisely.
National Voters’ Day is being observed to promote and encourage youth to participate in voter registration, especially among new or first-time voters. The day has been celebrated since 2011 across the country to mark the foundation of the Election Commission of India on January 25, 1950...////...
