Chennai, Jan 30 (Reporter) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will pay a day's visit to
Chennai tomorrow (Friday).
During his visit, the Vice-President will preside as the Chief Guest at the 3rd National
Conference of the Deaf-Blind on Advocacy for Education, Accessibility and Wellbeing,
official sources said on Thursday.
The event will be organised by the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with
Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan), Chennai, an organisation under the Department of
Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and
Empowerment, Government of India.
The National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan)
was located at Muttukadu on the ECR about 45 km from Chennai.
Meanwhile, police have made elaborate and tight security arrangements in view of his visit
and have banned flying of drones and UAVs.
The entire stretch of the route to be travelled by Mr Dhankar, right from airport to Raj Bhavan
and to the function venue, has been declared as a "Red Zone' by the police.
Police sources today said "the Vice President will be visiting Chennai on January 31 and
attending functions at Muttukadu and Mahabalipuram the same day."
An order under section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 was
promulgated prohibiting use of drones, remote controlled micro-lighted aircrafts,
para gliders is already in force from December 26, 2024 to February 23, 2025 in
Greater Chennai Police limits.
In view of security reasons, the area coming under the jurisdiction of Greater Chennai
Police including Chennai Airport, Raj Bhavan and the routes to be traversed by the
VVIP have been declared as a “Red Zone” (RED ZONE) and flying of Remotely Piloted
Aircraft Systems (RPAS)/Drone and any other aerial objects have been banned in
Chennai on January 31, except the Government arrangements...////...
