Chennai, Jan 16 (Reporter) A wanted criminal 'Bomb' Saravanan was shot at and arrested by a special police team after he allegedly attacked a Sub-Inspector when he tried to arrest him in North Chennai today. Police sources said the 45-year-old criminal, on seeing the police team, tried to escape after attacking the SI when police opened fire in self defence, injuring him. He was arrested and later to admitted to Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital for treatment as he suffered bullet wounds in his left leg. His condition was said to be stable. He was involved in more than 30 cases, including six murder cases. however, his wife Mahalakshmi, a lawyer, alleged that her husband was arrested at Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh and was illegally detained him for close to 24 hrs without producing him before the court. She also claimed that Saravanan was not involved in any cases for the last 15 years...////...
